We accept all classes of hazardous freight goods on our Poole to Cherbourg route and we are also able to carry a wide range of less restrictive categories on our other routes.
In order that we can fully comply with international regulations, we must have a minimum of 24 hours notice. Depending on the route you wish to take, it may also be necessary for you to provide prior notification to the appropriate harbour authority. Specific tariffs are available on request.
Hazardous cargoes - pre advice
Brittany Ferries' checking procedures for hazardous goods are stringent, the safety of our vessels, their passengers and crew being of paramount importance.
In order that we have adequate time to properly complete these formalities, we require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for the shipment of any hazardous goods. This pre-advice should be provided in the form of faxed Dangerous Goods Notes to the appropriate Freight Reservations Office.
When either of these offices is closed and the shipment is imminent, please contact the Operations Office at the port of departure.
